Teacher's Sharing Zone

 A great book to read with adolescents, it is so easy to get caught in the story. Totally recommended if you are looking for real material to work with your upper courses.  But all books need us to get our students ready for what they will be reading.  I used Prezi  to prepare the audience. You will find here notes on the author, main topics, some elements regarding the main character.. even a couple of short videos.  

I'm sure many teachers have been using PowerPoint for quite some time and are ready for a change. I am sharing a Prezi presentation I prepared some time ago before our students started reading "The Catcher in the Rye", an excellent book I recommend if you are planning to use real material with adolescents.  I find Prezi a lot more attractive than PPP, it allows us to include videos, images and a lot of movement.  BTW it also allows us to upload slides from any PPP we might have in our computers.  Hope you find it useful.   

  Great book for adolescents and a lovely movie too. I tell my students to watch after reading the book. In this way, they can enjoy both formats ;-) In this Prezi  you will find information on the author, plus a short video of the author talking about her book. There are also notes on the book's topics. Students can go through the presentation while they listen to the movie's music in the background. Hope you find it useful!

If you are looking for a great short story, then Mr Know-all by Somertet Maugham is the perfect choice!  A lovely short story to read with an incredible twist at the end! I prepared this Prezi  for my Advanced students, in this way they could work at their own pace going through the different activities y proposed.  Do take a look, hope you find it useful.
