Learning styles. How do I learn best?

Image
We are all different and thus learn in different ways. Each of us has preferred or dominant learning style, but we also have a mix of them.  We can also use different learning styles in different circumstances as they are not fixed. Our learning styles model the way we learn and connect with knowledge, how we represent experiences, recall information; even the words we choose are influenced by our learning style.  The Seven Learning Styles Visual  (spatial) : You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding. Aural  (auditory-musical):  You prefer using sound and music. Verbal  (linguistic):  You prefer using words, both in speech and writing. Physical  (kinesthetic):  You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch. Logical  (mathematical):  You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems. Social  (interpersonal):  You prefer to learn in groups or with other people. Solitary  (intrapersonal):  You prefer to work alone and use self-study. ( http://www.lear

A story to remember

Image
We´ve been talking about stories and how they impact the brain.  Read this story and think of the visual images it contains.  How effective do you think they are? Do they serve any purpose? Cookies This actually did happen to a real person, and the real person was me. I had gone to catch a train. This was April 1976, in Cambridge, U.K. I was a bit early for the train. I'd gotten the time of the train wrong. I went to get myself a newspaper to do the crossword, and a cup of coffee and a packet of cookies. I went and sat at a table. I want you to picture the scene. It's very important that you get this very clear in your mind. Here's the table, newspaper, cup of coffee, packet of cookies. There's a guy sitting opposite me, perfectly ordinary-looking guy wearing a business suit, carrying a briefcase. It didn't look like he was going to do anything weird. What he did was this: he suddenly leaned across, picked up the pack
